Craig enrolls in classes for Fall 2008 tomorrow! Yes! He is definitely planning on going the Social Welfare route with a strong possibility of the Masters Program. I am very proud of him. His journey through all of these majors really helped him fine tune what he wants to do with the rest of his life. I hope to link him up to friends who are social workers and have masters to help him focus on his disipline.
I just got invited to attend a Joyce Meyer Conference. She will be in Kansas City at the Sprint Center May 15-17 (free). This conference is for men and women and I know it will be awesome. If you are interested in going please contact me!
I received this email this morning from a young girl in Ethiopia. It touched my heart to the core. She is currently in the US studying at a University. She applied to KU and doesn't know that she will be able to afford it. She explained to me that she comes from a third world country where just getting clean drinking water in a difficulty. Somehow her and her parents were able to send her to the US for school and now she wants to study medicine here at KU. She mentioned that her faith in God had got her this far and that she will continue to use her faith to get her to KU. It just boggles my mind how she is faced with so many adversities that she still puts God first and doesn't curse him for what she is going through. Please keep this young woman in your prayers. I hope that she can find herself in a better position financially so that she can come to KU and fulfill her dream.
This situation also makes me think of how we take the simpliest things for granted. We as Americans should be more aware of the world around us. We think that we are and should be the center of everything. I do not think that it should be that. I am positive that many of the problems that third world countries face are because of us..because we as a nation do not put God first or love one another. We don't try to live for HIS glory. We live for own. We don't act in love towards one another. What ever happend to treat other people as you would want to be treated? I have ranted enough on this subject, but seriously think about it.
