Craig and I got married last October during my last semester at the University of Kansas. We did not have time to take a honeymoon so we decided that we would take one later on in the the year.
Well, here we are in September and we still haven't been able to go on a honeymoon. It's okay I am not complaining because we are now we are in final stages of planning. We both want it to be inexpensive and fun so hello to Kansas City Honeymoon! For those of you who have been to Kansas City, it probably sounds lame. I am trying not to think of it like that. I feel like we are saving a large sum of money that can go to other things like paying off my last credit card (YES!!) and putting some savings toward having our first baby (soon!!). Eventually we hope to go somewhere more exotic as the years go by, but for now we need to be smart and responsible with what we have been given.
We plan on going over Fall break in October (this also happens to be when Craig has time off). So far we will spend two days and part of a weekend doings things in KC that we never have time to do like: Tour Boulevard Brewing Company, seeing the Jazz museum, and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.
We plan on staying in a very comfortable hotel room for a night or two as well. Eat at Izumi Sushi (our favorite) also try some KC BBQ. This may sound strange, but I am a native Kansan and haven't had much in the way of KC BBQ. Craig's eaten at more KC BBQ places than I have and he's from Chicago! Go figure..
If you can think of anything else unique we could do in Kansas City please let us know. I am excited about this mini honeymoon and I think that it will be a great time for both of us.
