I love love love my dog Stewie, but sometimes he can be a little spoiled...
Hey in my defense, I have never had a dog before and was only used to taking care of cats.
We got Stewie just about two years ago when he was a feel weeks old. We named him Stewie because we have three cats named Sampson, Smokey Beau and Spooky. He's half Yorkie half Cocker Spaniel. We call him goat dog because he looks like a baby goat. Anyway, I watched DVD's, read books and listened to Craig about caring for dogs and training them. I got the caring part down right away, but the training part not so much.
We tried crate training at night and it was effective for a month or two, but then we would forget to crate him and he sneak into bed with us. Even now as I am typing Stewie is wedged deep into our comforter waiting for us to get into bed so that he can snuggle with us.
He can sit and heal when he feels like it, which is about 80% of the time. He's a good walker for the most part. If Stewie sees a bunny or squirrel watch out and hang onto the leash!
Stewie does not like getting his paws wet(rain, snow). Oddly enough he doesn't like wearing dog booties. I have to go outside with an umbrella if it is raining so that he can do his business. In the winter time he wears a sweater!
What can I say? I am really excited to have a dog, but need to buckle down and do some serious training before Sophia gets any older.
