Ha! There year I asked Craig to write our Christmas Letter for friends and family so here it is!
Well, the Christmas season is upon us, and that means that it is once again time for Christmas cards and letters. That is why the Anderson Family is proud to sponsor Team Anderson’s Christmas 2011: A Year In a Few Paragraphs! We’ll look at new beginnings and new directions, changes in jobs and changing of diapers, plus some updated information on a new member who will be joining the family in 2012.
The year started off with a big change as Craig left his role as a student and employee at the University of Kansas to stay home with the youngest member of Team Anderson, Miss Sophia. After some intensive one-on-one training with Sophia, Craig returned to the work force as an auto detailer at CarMax in Kansas City. He uses his elite cleaning skills not only to refurbish all interior surfaces of the cars but also to remove scratches and repair chips on the exterior, restoring cars to look show-room new. Sophia, however, is not completely off the hook, as Craig’s schedule allows him to still look after her and start off her week each Monday.
While Craig cleans, sands, and paints cars in Kansas City, Tisha is just as busy back in Lawrence at the University of Kansas. Within the confines of Strong Hall on Jayhawk Boulevard, Tisha works tirelessly with international students, helping process their applications and answering any and all questions as they seek admission into the University. She finds the work rewarding and enjoys her interactions with students from diverse backgrounds and representing six continents (no word yet on any students from Antarctica).
Perhaps the most change in 2011, however, was experienced by Sophia. She turned two in September and has reached many milestones throughout the past year. She is now walking and talking very well and is even on her way to becoming potty-trained. To her parents’ delight she is discovering the joy of music, as her interests include singing, dancing, and exploring making music on a variety of instruments such as her xylophone, the piano, and daddy’s guitars. Additionally, she seems to have developed Tisha’s love of animals as she seems to befriend every cat and dog she encounters. Most importantly, though, she is finally learning to share, which will be very important as Team Anderson welcomes a new member in 2011.
Baby Boy Anderson will be arriving on February 15th, 2012. While we were able learn the due date, both Craig and Tisha have kept the chosen name carefully guarded. We will, however, keep you updated as information becomes available, but sources close to Team Anderson say we may not know the name until Baby Boy makes his appearance. No matter what his name ends up being, one thing is for certain: He is eagerly awaited by Mommy, Daddy, Big Sister Sophia, both sets of proud grandparents, and his aunts and uncles.
Thank you, family and friends, for tuning in to our yearly Team Anderson update. Stay tuned in mid-February for Baby Boy updates and pictures, and until then have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
