Baby Boy: In less than four weeks I am going to be a mama of two! Recently, I started to nest..not sure why it started so late. With my daughter, I was nesting and prepping the house at five months. I guess I learned the first time that no matter how much you plan and prepare there will also be something that you missed or overlooked. I also, have a better idea of what to expect this time around too. This time I am gonna go with the flow instead of trying to be in control of everything.
Overall, this pregnancy has gone pretty well. My blood pressure has creeped up a bit, but that is to be expected as I get closer to delivery. Speaking of delivery, I will have another c-section on February 15th with this one because I still have a humongous fibroid that is still in the way of the birth canal. At first I was disappointed, but at the same time it's nice to know when baby boy will come out. I recovered very quickly from the last c-section and I am hoping for the same results this time.
Work: Two weeks ago I got called into my director's office and was given a pay raise and promotion. I couldn't believe it because nine months ago there was some talk about the possibility of taking on more responsibilities and then nothing followed. I just thought oh well, I guess the funding fell through. I am very excited about my new role in the office. It seriously couldn't have come at a better time. Craig and I are seriously paying down our student debts and any extra to make the happen is welcomed. I enjoy what I do at work and I also like being able to help my husband take care of the family financially.
Sophia: She is becoming even more independent! She still wants to be read to, but she'd rather "read" us the stories that she is more familiar with. We moved her to a big girl bed at night and so far so good!! She loves it. She goes to her bed and says, "This is Sophie's big girl bed". She's been on a bit of a potty training strike maybe because she has been sick or maybe she is getting more defiant. I find it cute and annoying at the same time. I was hoping to make the switch from pull ups to big girl underwear before baby boy got here. She can say her alphabet, count to 20, knows colors, can make complete sentences, has songs memorized..I could go on. I think she is going to be a gifted kid like her daddy and Uncle CC!
Craig: Dang! My hubby has been working alot! He is working 50 hour work weeks so that we can survive during maternity leave, pay down our student loans and keep up with the mortgage. He leaves the house at 6am and then returns around 7pm. It's not what he wants to do, but has to do to get us where we need to go.
That's all I have for now. I hope to update this blog a few more times before baby boy gets here!
