A few weeks back Craig and I watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. If you haven’t seen it, then you should see it. Anyway, the main character in the documentary had lots of health problems that required medication and he was considered obese. To make a long story short he went on a raw food juice diet for 60 days, lost a ton of weight and no longer needed his medication. He maintained his weight loss by eating healthy and exercising.
I have lost nearly 30 lbs. since I gave birth to Langston and I am motivated to lose more. Over the last couple of weeks I have incorporated more raw foods and organic foods into our home. Yes, it is expensive, but it outweighs the benefits of going out to eat and eating only processed foods.
I am not brave enough to start a fast yet. I want to work my way up to that. I am okay with supplementing a breakfast or lunch with a blended raw fruit smoothie. I can get almost all of my fruits and veggies in one meal. I had one this morning and I am still full. I don’t have the “my stomach is going to eat itself” feeling because my blood sugar dropped due to hunger. I put spinach, cucumbers, carrots, strawberries, grapes and some ice cubes. I call it green sludge because it is all great expect for bits of carrot. It was delish!!
At some point I would like to get a juicer, but they are expensive! I am thinking birthday or Christmas gift for me this year! I also want to stick with raw food and blending for a while before I invest in a juicer. I don’t want an appliance just sitting around collecting dust!
