This and That

Langston: He will be one year old next week! Seriously where has the time gone. We are having a family birthday party with a Thomas the Tank Engine Theme. I think he is going to LOVE it. He’s been walking since about 9 months and he is just starting to “talk”. He can say mama, nuh nuh (No), and uh O. I am trying so hard not to compare him with Sophia who was signing and saying two word sentences by the time she was one. Also, I feel like I don’t have enough time to really celebrate and revel in his milestones like I did with Sophia. All in all I am one blessed mama to have a beautiful, healthy baby boy!

Sophia: She is still adjusting to Langston. There are times when she doesn’t want me to have anything to do with him. Last night, she said, “Remember when I was two? Langston wasn’t born yet and I had fun”. Yep, awkward. I kind of laughed it off, but it got me thinking that I need to carve out some Sophie and Mommy time. We have a few moments after I lay Langy down and Saturday mornings when I take her to Hip-hop and we go to the grocery store afterward. I wonder what else we can do so that she feels special too.

Craig: My hubby is awesome. Just AWESOME. I will admit that I have been pretty crabby lately with lack of sleep and job stress. He does whatever he can to help me and that means a lot…like getting up crazy early before he has to go in to help with the kids, making meals, grocery shopping, washing my car, buying chocolate! He has a pretty demanding job that keeps him going all day outside in all the elements.

Me: Work has picked up! Job security. I have been working through lunches and work a few hours here and there on the weekends. Luckily our busy season will be over in April so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. This month marks my 5th year with my department. Again, where has all the time gone? Lately, I have been feeling a little sad about some of my coworkers and student assistants who have moved unto other endeavors. I think it might be about time to move onto an endeavor of my own.

Novel: I haven’t actually started writing it yet. I am working on a plot summary. The novel has nothing to do with my personal life or anyone’s life that I know. That’s all I am sayin for now. Ha!
