This past week, Craig and I have been struggling to stay healthy. I was out three days with the flu plus two this week with whatever I have. Craig has been out since last Saturday. We are doing all the right things like drinking water, resting, cough drops, ibprofen/aspirin to keep fever down, and it still isn't doing the trick. I have an appoint for the doctor tomorrow to see if there is anything that they can do. If you know me, then you know that my whole life has revolved around doctors in some way or another. I know that doctors can be very helpful, but I also like to have things take care of themselves. I've had this sickness on and off since the 15th so I think that it's time to get checked out. Craig doesn't like to go to doctors either so I seriously doubt that he will go even though I think that he needs to.
Something that has helped me feel better while being sick is being in the word. I have been looking at ACTS 16: 25-34 where Paul and Silas are beaten and thrown in jail because the made an evil spirit leave a girl. While in jail, they prayed to God and sang hymns. The jail foundation shook and doors flew open. The guard thought the prisoners were gone so he was going to kill himself, but Paul stopped him. The guard asked "Sir, what must I do be saved?" They both said "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved- you and your household. The guard was later baptised with his family by Peter and Silas and were happy in God's love. The story speaks to me because it says that no matter where we are we always have the opportunity to accept Jesus into our lives. In this case he provided an opportunity for the guard and his family to accept Christ into their lives by a humbling experience.
