Thursday

 So many updates:

Craig: is currently battling bronchitis. He has been home for the past few days. Please pray that he will get better.

Earlier this month he bought a new car. My van is no longer useable. I am not comfortable with car payments, but I am comfortable knowing that he is safe on the highways to and from work.

He is excelling very well at work. I have no doubt in my mind that he will become a full buyer in the spring. He does his job well, everyone likes him, and he is scary intelligent.

Me:

I returned last weekend for my first out of state outreach event. I got to go to Denver, CO with the admissions team. I had a blast!

My university is in the middle of a salary market study. Over the years KU has lost quality staff due to salary differences. I recieved my letter this week letting me know that based on my job description that I will get a moderate salary increase! Yay!

After looking at where we are. Craig and I have decided to stay at our house for another year. We want to do all the home improvement projects within a year and then sell the duplex starting in January 2015. Gives us more time to think about where we want to move and to slowly clean out our house.

Sophia:

She loves preschool, ballet, the library and spending time with family.

She still watches Thomas the Tank Engine, Magic School Bus, My Little Pony, Lazlo, and Pengu

My little girl is starting to be more independent, which is exciting, but makes me sad. I know that she has to grow up :(

Langston:

He celebrated his 2nd birthday on the 15th. Mikey Mouse theme. He tore his piece of cake up!

He is started to talk in short sentences!
He loves dancing and singing. He always has a smile on his face. I still can 't believe that he is my blue eyed son. Lol.

Over the summer we will start potty training. I think that he understands what his potty is for....he just has to recognize what it feels like when he needs to go.

Building a House with Daddy

Sophia built a house with daddy tonight before bedtime. It seriously was the cutest thing because they baked in the imaginary kitchen and they called each other Big Bear and Little Bear. After a hard days work, I love how Craig spends time with her and give her his attention.

She wanted to sleep there, but we had to tell her no.

Black Wii

Craig got the black Wii for an early birthday present from his parents. I think that it will be a nice addition to our home. I am excited that it can stream netflixs!!

Craig's Trip to the Dentist

My husband has not been to the dentist in quite a while...think six years. He went a couple of weeks ago to have his teeth cleaned. He only had three very small cavities! The dentist said he'd watch them for now and they will probably get filled the next time he goes in October! I am so glad that he went and it wasn't that bad!

Sickness

Craig is struggling to breath due to asthma and what we think is an respiratory infection. he has been truly miserable for the past couple of days. We are hoping for a quick recovery for him. Sophia laughs when he coughs and sneezes she think that it is a game. Her laughing makes Craig feel a little less miserable. I love my little family so much!

Moving fast

I seriously can not believe that my maternity leave it coming to an end in two weeks! I have learned so much in such a short amount of time about my daughter, Craig and myself. Is there really anyway to prepare yourself not to see your baby during the day?!

Sophia went to her doctors visit yesterday. She is seven weeks, 11lbs and 22 inches long! She is growing beautifully! Next month she will get the first round of vaccinations.

Craig's semester at KU is beginning to wind down. He has an exam tomorrow, then some papers and one more exam before he is done.

Next week is my 29th birthday! WOW 29 years on this earth is crazy. I never thought that I would have such an awesome hubby, baby girl and pets!

Thanksgiving is in two weeks! We have family coming in from out of town and we also plan to visit my family in Topeka for an awesome meal.

I definitely can not complain about losing more weight since the pregnancy. It has now reached 50 pounds and has slowed down a bit. I hope to watch what I eat over the holidays so that I don't gain anymore weight and continue losing. Breast feeding has proved to be effective, but I also have been eating better, drinking water and taking Sophia out for walks too.

In the mist of all of everything I forgot to mention that I have reached a milestone. 400 blog posts since February 2008! Yahoo!

Feeling under the weather

Craig, Sophia and I all have colds. We are taking it easy and are trying to get as much rest as possible, but that has proved to be a little difficult with a young infant. Craig is taking a nap with Sophia now and it's very cute. I still have some things to do around the house before I can nap.

One good thing that happened today was that my blood pressure is good and I have lost another 4 lbs! That makes a total of 38lbs since Sophia was born 4 weeks ago. I am pretty happy to fit back into my pre-pregnancy clothes. Who knows...by the holidays I may be able to wear the clothes I fit into when Craig and I first started dating back in 2004!

Update on Team Anderson

Craig

Is enjoying his summer so far. He is working 25-30hours per week for campus mail at the University of Kansas. He decided not to take courses this summer to save some money for our baby that is coming in two and a half months. He spend the rest of his time playing WOW and spending time with close friends a few times a week.

Craig, in addition to cooking, mowing the grass, and cleaning the bathroom now does the kitty litter (I can't and he doesn't mind) and takes out the trash each week. I am happy that he can step in and really do a great job of helping me maintain the home. I am thankful for his willingness to do whatever it takes.

School starts in about a month for Craig. He will be taking 2 classes. One is a directed study course with a professor in the School of Social Welfare and the other course will be a graduation requirement. He normally would take a full schedule in the fall, but with our little girl arriving in the middle of the semester it is best that he just take two courses so that he can adjust to the life change without putting his academics into jeopardy. He will also be working part time on campus this fall for 20-25 hours .

Baby Girl and Me
I am 30 weeks and 3 days today. Praise the Lord! She is still moving around like crazy and now it's getting to the point where her kicks are getting stronger.
There is some soreness around my pelvis region. I called my midwife/nurse Misty and she asked me a series of questions. We both agreed that it's not Brackston Hicks contractions or pre-term labor . I was in pain yesterday, but now it has subsided to just soreness. I am guessing the baby is putting on alot of weight right now, as she should, so my body is adjusting to it( could be the fibroid as well). I will be calling Misty if anything else doesn't seem right or I have questions. She was so unbelievably helpful and nice. I thank the Lord for her!
The third trimester has been pretty tiring for me. I feel alot more tired then I have for the first and second trimester combined!
I am going to get all the rest that I can get now, while I chance!

Craig leaves today for the Windy City!

Craig and his brother Chris are driving to Chicago to see his parents when they get back from Hawaii, seeing old friends and going to a Phish concert in Wisconsin.
Originally I wanted to go, but with me being 6 months pregnant and needing to save vaca/sick time for maternity leave I thought better of it.
I hope that Craig has a wonderful time with his brother, friends and family. Please keep him in your prayers for safe travels!

What will I do with myself without Craig around?

  • I will be cleaning, organizing, rearranging (no worries I won't be lifting anything too heavy) our household. Here I come closets! We need to make alot of room for the baby.
  • Take care of our little girl and making sure she is well fed and rested!!
  • Get back up to speed with laundry especially now that we have our own washer and dryer.
  • reading, reading, reading!! I am currently in the middle two books for fun. I desperately need to get caught up on bible study as well.
  • Watch movies: I went to the library yesterday and got Love Comes Softly, Fargo and Sabrina the Teenage Witch Season 2
  • Spoil our cats Spooky, Sampson and Smokey Beau! Also, the puppy Stewie too!

I am a little sad that Craig will be gone for almost a week, but I look forward to the time to relax and reflect. Praise the God for times of relaxation and reflection!

Craig felt the baby move last night!

Since I was 16 weeks I could feel our little girl move, but Craig couldn't. I think that it my have something to do with me being over weight and our little girl not being big enough to produce the bigger kicks. Well, all that has changed because I am 25 weeks on Wednesday.

Craig came to bed around 11:30 last night and he put his hand on my belly. I could feel her move around, but he couldn't at first...then he felt her move!!!

He was in a bit of a shock, but really excited. Once I learn her moving schedule better I can have him feel her more.
Yay, for the small things in life.
I love you Craig!

Craig's parents got it for him because he plays guitar.

The Office Fridays!

Craig and I don't have television because of personal choice, but we do enjoy watching The Office!

We watch The Office on Fridays, while eating lunch together on http://www.hulu.com/

We both a great time while enjoying each other company. The episode that aired today called The Duel was hilarious and a great start to the middle of the season.

under the weather

Craig hasn't been feeling to well these past couples of days. He went to the doctor today to see what was wrong and it was an infection of the prostate. He is on medications for it now and is expected to make a full recovery soon. I am very happy that the cause of his pain was found he's been so miserable lately and now he can get better. I am praying for Craig to feel like himself again.

I was up with Stewie at 2am and then off and on until it was time to go to work. He's having some issues with going potty in his crate. I think that I may have given him too many doggy treats last night. Needless to say it was a learning lesson! I didn't get angry with Stewie because he's just a puppy and he can not help it. As I was cleaning out his crate and taking him outside to use the bathroom, I called on the Lord to help me get Stewie though it safely. I knew that if I acted in the flesh and got mad at Stewie it would make matters worse. Thank you for helping me through Jesus!

The Man I Love

Craig and I met on March 9, 2004 ever since that date my life has never been the same. We've had very good and difficult times together. I am excited to say that he is my very best friend, lover and supporter.

Tomorrow marks our first year of marriage and I couldn't be happier. A year ago we made a pledge in front of friends, family, God and in our hearts to love and cherish each other for the rest of our lives. Here we are and I thank God everyday for Craig! Ahh! Marriage is a wonderful thing.

I love you Craig!
